Humanity Meets an Unfamiliar Intelligence at the Frontier of Art

The rise of artificial intelligence is challenging a long-held premise: that humanity’s only intellectual rival was humanity itself. In an age when intelligence can no longer be explained by knowledge and computational ability alone, we revisit the meaning of humanity and intelligence alongside AI, which can produce intellectual outcomes without conscious experience. Looking toward a future in which humans and superintelligence may together open new horizons in knowledge and art, this session asks what it means to be human at this moment of profound transition, and what kind of future we should seek to create.

인공지능의 등장은 인간만이 인간의 경쟁자였던 오래된 전제를 흔들고 있습니다. 지능이 더 이상 지식과 계산 능력만으로 설명되지 않는 시대, 의식적 경험 없이도 지적 결과를 만들어내는 AI와 함께 인간과 지성의 의미를 다시 묻습니다. 초지능과 인간이 함께 지식과 예술의 새로운 지평을 열어갈 가능성을 바라보며, 이 거대한 전환의 순간에 인간은 어떤 존재인지, 우리가 어떤 미래를 열어가야 할지 가늠합니다.

Part 2 - The Future of Art

Between Human and AI: Art Opening New Forms of Intellect

As AI moves beyond creation and begins to intervene in human perception and judgment, this session reconsiders the value and role of art made by humans. Art can experiment with new forms of perception and expression while also becoming a space for reflecting on the realities and images shaped by technology, as well as questions of value, judgment, power, and responsibility. Through this reflection, the session explores whether art can connect human intelligence and artificial intelligence and open possibilities for a “new intellect".

인간과 AI 사이, 예술이 여는 새로운 지성

AI가 창작을 넘어 인간의 인식과 판단에까지 개입하는 시대, 인간이 만드는 예술의 가치와 역할을 다시 묻습니다. 예술은 새로운 감각과 표현을 실험하는 동시에, 기술이 만들어내는 현실과 이미지, 가치와 판단, 권력과 책임을 성찰하는 장이 될 수 있습니다. 그 성찰을 통해 예술이 인간지성과 인공지능을 잇고 ‘새로운 지성’의 가능성을 열 수 있을지 탐색합니다.

The Future of Being Together: New Ways of Connecting Art and the City

For centuries, people have gathered in streets and squares, theatres and festivals, creating relationships and memories through shared acts of seeing, listening, and moving together—and in doing so, shaping the life of cities. Technology now allows us to connect without being in the same place, yet we still seek the immersion of being present, unexpected encounters, and purposeless play, even as the ways we experience togetherness continue to change. This session asks what shared experience means today and explores the new forms of connection and encounter that artistic practices in cities may create.

예술과 도시의 새로운 연결, 함께 있음의 미래

인간은 오래전부터 거리와 광장, 공연장과 축제에 모여 함께 보고 듣고 움직이며 관계와 기억을 만들고 도시를 형성해 왔습니다. 기술은 인간을 같은 장소에 있지 않아도 연결될 수 있게 했지만, 현장의 몰입과 우연한 만남, 목적 없는 유희에 대한 욕구는 여전히 남아 있습니다. 다만 기술이 관계의 조건을 바꾸면서, 함께 있음의 방식과 감각 역시 새롭게 변화하고 있습니다. 변화한 관계 속에서 함께 경험한다는 것이 어떤 의미인지 되묻고, 도시의 예술 실천이 만들어갈 새로운 연결과 만남의 가능성을 살펴봅니다.
